Our goal has never been merely to teach people about marriage and parenting. It is to help equip them to live out what the Bible teaches on these matters. Our programs have long focused on teaching biblical truth along with applicational appeals, but we have long relied on the church or chapel to then manage the follow-up. While some churches are well equipped to do this, many are not. Without an intentional discipleship plan, many sincere commitments often fail to result in lasting relational change. For this reason, Son Shine Ministries desires to come alongside churches where we present programs by connecting them with easy-to-incorporate marriage discipleship (small-group based) programs. David & Daniele Shaffer completed a successful pilot program of re|engage at their church this fall, which is a 16-20 week marriage discipleship program developed by Watermark Church in Dallas. This will be one of the follow-up suggestions offered to churches where we present our programs.
